Sustainable products can not contain mineral oil!

Sustainable products are rarely mentioned when people talk about cosmetics. Well, yes, when it comes to the packaging. But who talks about what happens with your foundation, your mascara and your lipstick when you wash them off with a cleanser?  Do you have mineral oil in your skin care products? I have an interesting thought here that you might want to take into conciderstion.

You probably  know that you are not allowed to put motor oil into the sewer. That is due to its poor biodegradable properties. Do you also know that motor oil IS mineral oil? And that it is more or less resistant to micro-organisms such as bacteria, fungi or enzymes?  This means it can not be processed into chemical breakdown by nature. These are established facts. Mineral oils have negative cumulative effects on the ecosystems!

Sustainable cosmetics are here!

Sustainable products

We must have more sustainable products!

What it means is that nature can not handle it. By handle I mean break it dow. Reuse it. Recycle its components, like it does with, lets say olive oil or an orange. Mineral oil is not a natural part of our environment and this could well be the reason your skin has a hard time processing it when you smear it on.

Environmental awareness is putting a spotlight on the he harmful components of mineral oils. Still this aspect is ignored when we talk about cosmetics. I find this strange, to say the least!

I have this question that I’ve asked myself for years now: How many tons of mineral oils are flushed down the drains around the world, when you wash your face and body? What is happening to our subsoil waters as this constant pollution it going on? And how long can mother earth take it?

We need more sustainable solutions and more sustainable products! You need more education on sustainable cosmetics! My eBook will give you that! Download “Your skin” here to understand why your skin needs more natural beauty products. Fill in name and email to the right and you’ll have it in an instant!

This is a great point and an interesting aspect that I have not seen mentioned before.

I don`t use cosmetics and not a big fan of skin creams. I only use certified organic personal care products and have for the past 8 – 10 years. It is a very important aspect to health and thank you for sharing it here! Best Regards, Wendy 🙂

Well I see it as also a part of our planets health as a whole. If she is not doing good, we are all doomed. What troubles me is that some just ignore this fact.

Good article. I do my best to only use things that are natural, organic, nothing that shouldn’t be going on my skin. 🙂

Thanks for the information. I just recently began learning about the harmful substances in our skin products. I am currently using Korres products because they contain quality plant extracts and essential oils without added silicone or mineral oil.

Yes, I agree. If you cannot find natural skincare without mineral oil. You are better off not using “skincare”.

Great read I often visit the cosmetic database to see if my products have those nasty toxins in them.
