Is there special nutrition for skin?
Perhaps you have encountered the problem of red, soar corners of you mouth? That is B vitamin deficiency! And most people are under the impression that B-vitamins are good for the skin, nails and hair. So far so good as this is for the most part true, but what is rarely know by the laywoman or -man, is all the other benefits this group of vitamins have on the organism and how utterly important is it for the middle aged woman to have them all.
Therefore I thought I would devote a category to nutrition and cover some basics about different nutritions and how some of them are extra important for you skin. In reality all nutrition work together as a team, so even if one compound is not on the forefront of skin health it probably works as a support to let something else do its job in the best way possible.
I have been thought that to be able to absorb vitamins you need enough minerals in you system. But to get the benefits of the minerals you need protein. It is rarely one nutrient that will do the trick if you are deficient, but a balanced supplementation. That is how it worked for me when I realized i was malnourished.
I have already done a few takes on vitamin C, witch is fairly easy as there is only one. But B vitamins is another ballgame altogether.
The group consists of eight vitamins and B1 got its name from being discovered first. Sometimes it can be as simple as that. In other words B1 is not more important than any of the others. I’ll round todays post of with a listing of this group and tell you more about them at a later date.
The 8 B vitamins
– Vitamin B1 – thiamine
– Vitamin B2 – riboflavin
– Vitamin B3 – niacin, can go under the names of nicotinic acid and nicotinamide
– Vitamin B5 – pantothenic acid
– Vitamin B6 – pyridoxine, pyridoxal, and/or pyridoxamine
– Vitamin B7 – biotin, also known as vitamin H
– Vitamin B9 – folic acid, sometimes called vitamin M
– Vitamin B12 – cyanocobalamin
