My review of Paula Begoun’s reviews

I read the most amusing reviews of Nu Skin products the other day. (If you mind that I’m an independent distributor of this very brand you can stop reading right now.) The reviews are by Paula Begoun, “The Cosmetics Cop”. She is quite famous and most people seem to think that “If Paula says so, it is so!” At least when it comes to cosmetics. She and her team would not give a dime for what I have to say, but I’ll say it anyways! 😉

Paula Begoun, “The Cosmetics Cop”

The reviews are amusing because Paula Begoun is so missing the point about what Nu Skin is up to. I do like her seriousness thought. She always has an extensive list of Sources. And her own story is compelling. But since we part on Botox, dermal fillers, surgery and several ingredients I’m not a fan. In many ways she looks fantastic, but she does have that stale look that I personally am not so fond of.

Paula Begoun has her own brand too. “Paula’s Choice”. To quote her site: State-of-the-art formulas based on reliable, published skin-care research. Not every one else sucks, but hers are of course the best. The customer reviews are average. I never tried them. I never will, so I won’t review them either.

What makes her reviews so meaningless is that she starts out with this. “It’s also important to note that their skin-care systems are not interdependent; that is, there’s no reason you can’t combine a Nu Skin serum with a sunscreen from Estee Lauder and a cleaner from Pond’s, or whichever brand you choose.”
To read her absolutely destructive review on the ageLOC serum go here. 😀

Paula Begoun is missing the point!

Ehhh, well the thing is, to get the results Nu Skin claims you absolutely MUST use only Nu Skin. Especially when you use the Galvanic SPA. How do I know? I tried my self! I’m critical. I’m intelligent. And I don’t buy into what a company says. I want to know before I tell others. Hearsay is not my way to go! Hence I did use the SPA machine with other products. Not only did the result not come – It got worse! I saw more wrinkles under my eyes and I looked drained. Did I change to the recommendation? You bet! ☺

The other thing is that while Paula Begoun is knowledgeable to the point of obsession about ingredients, Nu Skins ageLOC series is not about ingredients. It’s about technology! Worlds apart!! To know more about the technology that does indeed affect our genes give Discovery Channel a few minutes of your life. See for yourself, then judge.

Hello Mark!

Simple, they do what they say they are supposed to do. Provided you use them as recommended. Actually, they do more. 🙂

Hi Stella! I’ve never used NuSkin but have heard nothing but good things about it. I’ve found that most network marketing companies do tend to have products that are more expensive than store brand products but they tend to be of much better quality, and I believe are well worth the price. I used to sell Mary Kay and still use their products. It seems there will always be someone who is negative about anything especially if they want to use that negativity to increase their own value. If you believe in NuSkin and love the products then continue with it and others will continue with it as well!

    Hello Geniece, welcome here! 🙂
You are so right about the quality of MLM products. More costly because frequently so much better and long lasting. My post from yesterday was in a way about that. Cheap, bad stuff is expensive! 🙂
